Peerie Oorick

I stay on the island of Whalsay in Shetland with my husband Michael with our two lasses Faye & Mollie.

I started needle felting in 2011, my ooie creations are made from Shetland wool and Fair Isle remnants from Jamieson’s of Shetland in Sandness.  

In 2015 I began writing and became a self-publisher of 'Peerie Oorick books' writing and publishing Shetland dialect stories inspired by my needle felted characters.  I have worked alongside the talented illustrators Jenny Duncan, Jo Anderson and Dirk Robertson who brought 'Da Ooricks' 'Da Fisherman's wife' and 'Myrtle an Meenie' to life with their vibrant illustrations.
